You Make Me Dance

Drama Name: 유메이크미댄스; 너는나를춤추게한다  (You make me dance-8 episodes)

Cast: Choo Young Woo as Song Shi On, Wong Hyung Hoon as Jin Hong Seok

Language: Korean

Story Line: A dance student, Shi On, undergoes family issues and is left with an emotional wound and a major debt. He encounters the loan shark, Hong Seok, who ends up living with Shi On in his rooftop apartment. Will Shi On pass his Dance Auditions and clear debts? Will the duo just live like roommates?

Characters:

Lead 1: Choo Young Woo has made his debut in this series as a university student majoring in Contemporary Dance. For a newbie, Woo has done a rather good job. He has showcased his talent and skill in dance perfectly. He has portrayed different emotions and phases like living with his mother for most of his life; the sudden loss of the only family he had; his innocence; his passion for dance and so on. Although I personally feel that Choo Woo can work on his facial expressions.

Lead 2: Hyung Hoon plays the role of Shi On's Creditor. This character portrays how many corporate employees feel; willing to quit their job to follow their passions. Hong Seok wants to become a pianist after quitting his job which is possible only if Shi On pays his debt. In the process of helping Shi On, Seok falls in love with him. Although he is cold on the outside he helps Shi On with a warm heart. It won't be fair if I didn't mention his smile's mesmerizing. <3

Concern:

The episodes are way too short (15 minutes approx. each). The storyline was great but the first 4 episodes were slower than the other 4 and the story build-up was not consistent. The OST (Original Sound Track) in the parts where the main lead is not dancing, is not up to the mark.

Verdict:

The drama has a unique story, and I love how the director didn't incorporate homophobia and the feeling between the characters was very natural. Another worth mentioning feature is how the leads meet each other. Both of them have completely different lives but they found the right spot to meet and change their lives.

Overall I would rate it an 8.0 / 10.0!

Again, Korean BLs have never disappointed their fans!
